With views of the Manhattan skyline, this CT shoreline kitchen has a room with a view inside and out. Mixed materials like mahogany, marble, onyx and glass, painted and natural woods and metal hood create interest and drama. The kitchen design as well as the mahogany paneled family room was inspired by the elegance of yacht interiors. Designed to maximize water views, the pie shaped island combines the practicality of stone for working and the warmth of wood for the eating area. Building the cabinetry to the ceiling in a small kitchen provides maximum storage; a soft color for the cabinetry keeps the kitchen area light and bright.
